Nursing Licensure in Washington D.C.

The District of Columbia Board of Health requires that all APRN applicants first pass a national certification exam from the following credential bodies: AANPCB, ANCC, PNCB, AMCB, NBCRNA, AACN, CCNS, NCC. An APRN in Washington D.C. may put the following titles on their license: Adult-Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner, Family Nurses-Practitioner, Gerontologic Nurse-Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse-Practitioner, School Nurse-Practitioner or Psychiatric Nurse-Practitioner. APRNs must have 24 hours of continuing education to renew their license.
